Day 3 in New York
On the way to Independent art fair we caught Brad Troemel climbing away on his Furby holders at Zach Feuer.
Day 3 in New York
I popped to the back room for some light relief and discovered the very last Jon Rafman Google Map Work. Will be sad to see the end of this body of work.
Day 3 in New York
Enthusiastic collectors queued in the slushy snow whilst I hid in the Troemel sanctuary until the coast was clear.
Day 3 in New York
Marques Penteado’s work at Mendes Wood was incredible but too rude and raw for the Collection. ‘Storyboard Javier’ was fantastic.
Day 3 in New York
Also very much liked the ‘Pé de Jonas’ collage.
Day 3 in New York
Caught a brief glimpse of Croy Nielsen Gallery where Hugh Scott-Douglas was showing his strong body of work based on consumables.
Day 3 in New York
Marjorie Strider’s ‘Come Hither’ from 1963 was a discovery for a number of us.
Day 3 in New York
Wonderful Ethan Wagner and Thea Westreich were hugged by Stefan Tcherepnin’s beautiful cuddle monster.
Day 3 in New York
The Still House Group were showing another really successful exhibition. Entitled ‘Varela versus’ it contained a number of new and strong works produced specifically for the show. Louis Eisner had started on a new strain with paintings based on hot tubs. It was lovely to see everyone again after such a short time, I even met some of the mums.
