This evening the Stanley Picker Gallery will host a special Summer Party curated by the artist and musician Andy Holden. Coinciding with the release of his new album Towards a unified theory of MI!MS, the party will return to the themes and characters of the ambitious 2013 Zabludowicz Collection Annual Commission with the artist. Inspired by an art movement developed by Holden and his friends during their formative years in Bedford, the commission resulted in a large scale exhibition Maximum Irony, Maximum Sincerity 1999-2003 in September 2013. The MI!MS exhibition's central piece, a seven-part moving image work exploring the MI!MS story, legacy and revival, will be premiered at tonight's party as a single screen feature-length film. Holden will orchestrate a large scale version of the mysterious Aesthetics Game played by the original MI!MS members, and the evening will also include short screenings and performances from special guests. Further information is available on the Stanley Picker Gallery website.

Andy Holden's work Folly Quartet Boulder Museum, 2006-15, features in our current exhibition Zabludowicz Collection: 20 Years.
