About

As part of their current exhibition, A Minute Ago, students from the MA Performance Design and Practice course at Central St Martins devise new performances.

Nasia Papavasileiou, Ephemeral Ground

Looking into the importance of presence and human intervention, the artist responds to the idea of transmission through history and how people interact with, deconstruct, destroy or change the land that surrounds them. The installation consists of two symbolic ephemeral materials - sand and glass mirrors - placed on the altar of the gallery. Each week, a sound artist and a performer are invited to interact and respond to the space. The traces left behind by one performance will stay in place for the following week's performers build upon or erase.
