I was very excited about seeing the ‘The Voyage-A March to Utopia’ by Atelier Van Lieshout. I first saw the work when we visited Joep back in 2017 – it was still in its infancy. It is an infinite journey that takes us all the way from the entrance of the Unlimited Hall. The work composed of over 80 interconnected objects, machines and sculptures traversing survival and existence

I loved the Metro-Net work by Martin Kippenberger (Metro-Net, Transportable subway entrance, 1997), one of a series of fake subway entrances seen around the world. Perhaps as a critique of the utopian expansive and idealistic urban vision

Around town on our first night and we caught up with the magnetic Ella Kruglyanskaya at Contemporary Fine Arts where Part 2 of a 3 part show is taking place… this show felt connected but totally different to Thomas Dane’s ‘Part 1’ presentation in London. There is so much happening in these paintings, there is more narrative, and a different perspective - so many compositions in different fields - playing with supernatural and emotional subject matter. Long gone are the days of her angry woman now she puts her passions into other subjects – with fruit and vegetables food often making a highly charged appearance

En route to dinner (via the digital mile) we bump into Judy Lubke and Christian Ehrentraut and their wonderful Eigen + Art team. Always a pleasure to see these two legends

We went to Jeanne Greenberg at Maze (a pop up design fair to replace the gaping hole of Design Miami) and saw this eye catching Urs Fischer Lamp
