FIAC

2 November 2015

As quickly as we unwound from Frieze and had time to nurse our colds and ailments after a strenuous week, we were on our way to FIAC for more torture. By the time I arrived in Paris I had truly run out of steam but, after a few minutes at the fair, I was back.

FIAC
First stop was Mendes Wood and the wonderful Paloma Bosquê and Michael Dean. They had a great stand and I heard they sold everything.

Then Adrián Villar Rojas’ work at Kurimanzutto was incredible.
FIAC
Best George Condo I have seen to date and the one that got away at Spreuth Magers.

Then the true Frenchman made an appearance, the wonderful Vincente Honoré, Director of DRAF and who had curated a show for us back in 2008.
FIAC
Simon Denny at Christoph Bucholtz was quite brilliant. Looking at hiding secret data and information in a beehive.

Of course the highlight was Urs Fischer’s toilet, it took me a few seconds to realise is wasn’t a Sarah Lucas. Totally whimsical and back to the question of ‘art or not art?’
