At last the Kiasma Support Group Patron’s arrived and we provided all 32 guests with an incredible program. First stop was at home with Isaac and Freda Uziyel who made us an unforgettable lunch and this is us in front of the Ola Kolehmainen photograph. We were all so impressed by the deep breadth of her knowledge and their stunning collection
Picture of us enjoying the beauty of Freda and Izak's home - dazzled by the sunlight and hospitality
A highlight was to visit the home of Tunji and Laura Akintokun’s home. It was incredible to hear Tunji’s journey, literally from from rags to riches and then giving back! Funding artists athletes and students from his philanthropic trust. Here is a picture of him proudly in front of his excellent Yinka Shonibare ‘Warhol Fright Wig’ painting
Next it was to the home of Stephen Garrett and Alison Myners - she showed us her very special home nuzzled amongst the trees and flowers in Highgate. Here is Alison after just meeting Daniel Silver for the first time, with the brilliant sculpture by Daniel in her garden
In the garden our illustrious host Isaac Uziyel with Kiasma’s newest Chief Curator Anna Mustonen, Lizzie and Daniel Silver
The busy Friday day ended up at our home, where they wonderful group met so many artists including Ding Shulin, Glenn Brown and Edgar Laguinia, Markus Hippi from the Finnish Embassy, Candida Powell-Williams, Hanna / Keiken, wonderful Julia and Matthew Darbyshire. We all had such a lovely time
Kiasma arranged a very special studio visit to see Benjamin Orlow whose work will be in the Nordic Pavillion at the next Venice Biennale - curated by none other than Anna Mustonen! Bravo! Benjamin's work is so impressive - and I am told he runs the best art project space in the UK!
Next day it was the Cranford Collection’s turn, Muriel and Lizzie took a seat on a very comfortable Franz West in her home
Freddie Muriel and I wishing farewell to all our lovely Kiasma Support Foundation group
They made it to Edgar and Glenn Brown and all so enjoyed engaging with Glenns painting and his phenomenal collection at The Brown Collection in Bentick Mews.
Glenn and our fabulous painting... so proud to be loaning this to his show, his collection and passion is so special - it really is one of London’s utter GEMS
