I visited Collect in Somerset House and it had some beautiful objects, not many works I would categorize as cutting edge but definitely some beautifully crafted gems. I was lured in by the work of Peter Layton called simply ‘Wave on Base’
There was well crafted art jewellery this by Vera Siemund. Which had so many interesting elements including copper, steel, silver and quartz
Then at Cynthia Corbett the wonderful work by Emilie Taylor
Then a quick visit to the special exhibition by artist Louis Morlae called ‘Aut-000-Arcadia Louis Morlae’. The show explores how humans might stop into a new mode of living alongside intelligent technology
We had a special visit to Ella Kruglyanskaya show ‘Shadows’ she was taking us around and explaining all the works
I loved her obsession with Albers
Then we dropped into White Cube to see the work of Alia Ahmad - she is rooted in recollections and observations of her native Riyadh
Then off to Spain with BFAMI visiting the work of Miquel Barceló ‘Flores, peces, toros’ at Galeria Elvira González . I was intrigued by the ceramic works

And this work reflecting Madrid’s bullfighting ‘En los Medios’
The ceramics were varied and exciting, this one was titled ‘Moi aux Poissons’
I loved the fish ‘Cap de Morena’
Then at Hilario Galguera we were mesmerised by Matt Collishaw’s ‘Vivisystems’ exploring the intersection between biology, technology and art
His AI flowers were deeply thoughtful and alive with the pollination of insects and flowers creating a weird and strange biosphere
We were intrigued by the fascinating Masaveu collection it was founded in 2006 to promote arts and culture and conserving the artistic heritage of Spain. The collection was traditional and experimental at the same time
The cultural projects included the ‘Courtyard of Silence’ by Jaume Plensa which was such an eyecatcher
We were fed and entertained at Astrid Mizrahi and her incredible friends Mayte Spinola, Patricia Reznak and Carlos Urroz and former director of ARCO and Director of Museum Reina Sofia
We head to Opera Gallery with Vered Aaron and Gilles Dyan. They were lovely hosts and sent us of to check out Manel Valdez’s studio

We were very spoilt and loved and adored our visit to his studio it was very special
A special treat was our visit with artist Varda Caivano lead by lovely James Lindon
Her work was constantly experimental, and Varda was so welcoming
