Mexico City to New York City
11 March 2024
I travelled from Paris to Mexico City to see Olivia’s show Lux Feminae. The girls were there to meet me and were very excited!
On my way to Lux Feminae I drank my morning coffee in one of Mexico’s luscious parks
The venue was magical, and the show was beaming with young artistic talent. Olivia with Clarissa Losciale Boulian in front of painting
Here’s artist Cecile Hirschler Alberti in front of her dreamy painting
Introducing Octavia Greig who works with photography and painting
There was a lot of great eating out including a very special dinner with artist Javier Barrios
We visited Tatiana Roth at Galería Mascota
The Yves Scherer show eternity was really great and Tiffany pretended to stroke one of her sculptures
After a wonderful languid trip in Mexico I headed straight to New York City. At 52 Walker was a presentation of works by Kayode Ojo; the show was called ‘EDEN’, and the works were terribly desirable, made of many ready-made items of leisure, luxury and revelry
It was incredible to see the most delicious melting Kathy Butterly ceramics at James Cohan Gallery
I was invited to the United Nations Economic and Social Council on the UN International Day of Care and Support and Janet Biggs gave a wonderful performance as part of the session ‘Voices of Inclusion: AI and Authenticity in the Spectrum of Care and Support’
We had a wonderful evening at Performa fundraising, and Roya Sachs was popping her yellow balloons to raise money
Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn gave a wonderful speech, pictured here with Amalia Dayan
I saw a wonderful performance by the Gaetano Pesce team where they actually made an art work in front of the audience
I liked the work of Jane Yang-D’Haene at her show Handle Me with Care
We dropped into Stefania Bortolami and saw a show stopping Rebecca Morris show
The highlight show was Auerbach at Luhring Augustine, comprised of the most wonderful portrait drawings and painting. The presentation focused on Auerbach’s portraits of his wife Julie
I hosted Tracey at home it was lovely to be reunited with old friends
Then it was time for the opening at the new pristine White Cube which was exciting. The Brits had arrived! Tracey’s paintings were full of movement and passion
Here is Peter Fleisig with Lindsey Mendick
In the Seagram Building, Jay Jopling hosted a wonderful dinner for Tracey; it was very special
Two art doctors side by side, both from either side of the pond!
