Miami Art Basel Day 3
5 April 2024
The morning started with yoga with Fran overlooking the beach and being overlooked by a very pretty Koons belly dancer
The public art was decorative and fun. The Koons was gold and shiny and magnificent!
Hans Ulrich Obrist announced his agenda at the Serpentine for the following year at Casa Tua
I loved Eric N. Mack’s textile installation which featured two large-scale fabric collages draped from the ceiling
I loved Jes Fan’s work which was made of glass, aqua resin, metal, wood, silicone, and prolactin at Andrew Kreps
Also at Andrew Kreps I could not help admiring this little fellow by Hadi Falapishi made of Glazed ceramic sculpture and oil paint
I spotted a lovely new natural diorama by Max Hooper Schneider
It was lovely to see the fabulous Faber Castells
At Night Gallery was a very cute Tau Lewis
Also at Night Gallery was a beautiful work by Sarah Miska
I spotted this fab Cynthia Lahti
A fun moment was bumping into Sarah Thornton who was launching her wonderful new book
It was fun to explore Café Cleopatra and their site-specific installation of new sculpture and painting by Elisabeth Kley
At Anton Kern we liked Lloyd Foster, who engages with a myriad of materials, including paint, insulation foam, sapor sponges, fabrics, and netting, but photography is at the centre of his practice
At Dyan Luxembourg I spotted this fun work juxtaposition by Joel Mesler and Andy Warhol
At the end of the day was a lovely intimate dinner but I was just too tired to keep my eyes open!
