Miami Day 4

20 January 2022

Finally, I can say I had a great time in Miami and realise I will miss the soft hue of the warm weather, and the noisy crazy buzz of the NFT madness

Miami Day 4
We bump into Natalie Kovacs in Collins Canal Park, she shows us around ‘Humanoids’, the spectacular work of Joep van Lieshout
Miami Day 4
We had a very special visit to The Bass and enjoyed playing with Alex Israel’s Augmented Reality
Miami Day 4
Also at The Bass was Naama Tsabar’s very successful performance, ‘Perimeters’, which showed us how sound moves beyond walls and buildings. She uses sound holes, instrument parts and microphones to draw attention
Miami Day 4
We went back to the big fair and I saw a few more spectacular works. In Templon Gallery’s booth was this piece, Ed and Nancy Kienholz's ‘The Grey Window Becoming’
Miami Day 4
With my lovely friend, and art advisor, Stephanie we visited the seductive legs of Tschabalala Self at Galerie Eva Presenhuber
Miami Day 4
Another wonderful painting by Victoria Gitman at François Ghebaly
Miami Day 4
An artwork that really stood out at Miguel Abreu Gallery was ‘Breath 4’ by Tishan Hsu, this is the first time I have seen the artists work
Miami Day 4
I was also stopped in my tracks when I saw this sculpture, ‘Intralocutor: “You were born. And so you’re Free. So happy birthday’, by Rochelle Goldberg
Miami Day 4
Nicole Eisenman has joined Hauser & Wirth and was showing a lovely and impressive work which appeared in front of a Rashid Johnson and in front of my eyes
Miami Day 4
A very big treat was visiting Superblue, and I was once again in the world of Es Devlin and her reflections. High art and low art, not sure which was which
Miami Day 4
Across the road at the Rubell Museum, this room is a must see
Miami Day 4
Olivia making friends with a Thomas Schütte sculpture, in front of a Rosemarie Trockel wall piece made of wool
Miami Day 4
Even the dogs were pieces of art! Love the green fluffy tail in front of the Kusama installation
Miami Day 4
My favourite place is always the library
Miami Day 4
It was fun visiting the de la Cruz collection and meeting all the family. Polish born artist Ilona Szwarc, created a feminist installation with the subject being the human body. I thought she looked a lot like Shiv Roy from Succession
Miami Day 4
Tif Zab put on a great show for the artists on Cryptographic, and it was a booming success with Signe Pierce being the star performer. The NFTs were launched on OnlyFans
Miami Day 4
A few pop stars came to visit, I am not sure who they all were though
Miami Day 4
In the morning we were packed up and ready to leave. We all had a great experience in Art Basel Miami Beach. We managed to fit in one more quick visit to the art fair before leaving for the airport
Miami Day 4
At Marianne Boesky Gallery we loved the work by Sanford Biggers
Miami Day 4
At Kavi Gupta Gallery it was fun to discover Beijing born artist Su Su, I think she will go a long way

For me, this photograph soaks up some of the Miami atmosphere

In the evening was Daata’s exhibition screening, Nameless Grace, presented at the New World Symphony at SoundScape Park. Everyone enjoyed themselves

Meanwhile back at home, Lindsey Mendick and Robert Diament were promoting these ceramic flowerpot works as a fundraiser for Quench Gallery in Margate
