Back in New York - in the freezing cold - but I manage to visit a few lovely galleries. I am so happy to see Francessca Di Mattio at Stephen Friedman, a wonderful show incorporating everyday utilitarian items and cross-cultural references

All too soon it was Bye Bye New York and Home Sweet Home - we landed in London and it was straight to Christie’s. Standing proudly and central of the works for sale for BFAMI was wonderful sculpture by Ilana Fattal

The Dorchester was buzzing and full of many supporters rallying around the many public museums in Israel supported by BFAMI. The event was beautiful and successful - the interview of Joel Mesler was both entertaining and interesting

Then the most exciting moment was visiting the Louvre after hours
Seeing the “Mona Lisa” (Lisa del Giocondo) on your own was a serious bucket list moment. She watches you everywhere - painted in 1503 and considered an archetypal masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance
It was incredible to discover other timeless paintings by Leonard Da Vinci. This is ‘Saint John the Baptist’ painted in his later years, and he attributes his inspiration to Bacchus the Roman God of Wine. It must have been seen as such a new approach to painting. For me, a casual observer, I see a cute young guy showing attitude and painted with love
Meanwhile back at home Tracey gets her dues at Buckingham Palace - a dame at last!
