New York November 2023
21 March 2024
The New York art scene is on fire! It was incredible to see the work of Annie Morris at Timothy Taylor. The colours and the textures were popping out, it was a candy fest
At Pace Gallery, I loved this Kiki Smith sculpture
The works of Ann Agee were very special and a beautiful presentation. One to look out for!
Then I headed to David Lewis Gallery and met Trey Abdella where I adored his brave and fabulous installation. He is a genius, and will go a long, long way in my opinion
I dropped into James Fuentes’ show and spotted a wonderful older work by Elsa Rensaa
A great moment for Hauser & Wirth in Soho (my neighbours) where they opened their new show by Barbara Chase-Riboud
At Vito Schnabel was another wonderful opening of Trey Abdella
My highlight of the trip was Hauser & Wirth in Chelsea. It was a show stopper. First stop was Anj Smith where I loved these minute details which send us all subtle and startling messages
I was so glad to also catch fabulous talk; Anj is an eloquent speaker and always a pleasure to listen to
I loved this ambitious new installation by artist Mika Rottenberg
The weird and wonderful world of Pipilotti Rist
People gathered and it was a great place to communicate- something so important and needed in the world today
The final stop was Per Skarstedt, where our Eric Fischl work was surrounded by two magnificent Picasso’s
A real highlight was the work of Donna Huanca, and we headed to Sean Kelly where we found Donna with her creative friends who love and adore her
As we walked through the floating white curtains feeling quite heavenly, I spotted Donna!
Then it was onto the Faurschou Collection where Jens Faurschou was waiting for us
Proudly on display was Tracey’s Bedroom which was magnificent. She had slept and painted in one room and had created a diorama of sorts. It was very special to see this important work on display
Then it was time to see Donna once again performing with her exquisite performers and costumes
The lonesome, live figure on a plinth was just mesmerising
I was so thankful to have time to hang out with amazing interior designer / Art Collector Julie Hillman and Yana Peel in Julie’s magnificent home in Upper East Side
