This was followed by a superb bash at Ivor Braka’s magnificent Knightsbridge home. Hurvin even said a few words, which felt especially notable, as he is a man of few words, much like the quiet subtlety and expressive restraint of his paintings

The same week, at the Serpentine, Picture Making by Cecily Brown offered a vivid, intense, and immersive experience, with vigorous brushwork, vivid colour, and dynamic compositions throughout

The next day was especially memorable at Opera Gallery, where the crowds and influencers were heaving, with hundreds queuing to see the wonderful porcelain works by Sandra Sashou

At JW3, Sandra unveiled The Lovelock Hostage Bridge, a commission comprising hundreds of padlocks installed along the bridge, each bearing the name of a hostage. She had been invited to create a sculpture in situ

Then I was off to New York. For the first time, I visited the ICP, the International Center of Photography. I was particularly drawn to the work of Ivorian artist Eboro, whose practice brought together beauty, style, and colour in a compelling way. Through the use of multiple mediums, he explored the different paths and trajectories of life

At the new Gallery Sardine, Peter Fleissig and I loved Joline Wakkenbos’s 'Sapphic in the Field.' The work was truly beautiful

We also loved 'Britt Bringing Egg.' Joline draws on clothing from historical periods, infusing it with a subtle theatricality, often using herself as the sitter
