We head of to the beautifully refurbished glass Grand Palais … but sadly, it still leaks
We start at Pilar Corrias who proudly show a gleaming sculpture by Lina Iris Viktor ‘Procession of the Solar Angel’ – a 24 carat gold and acrylic painted bronze statue
The darling of the art fair were the 13 sculptures by Diego Marcon ‘La Banda di Crugnola’ at Sadie Coles
We also loved this work by Martine Syms ‘Life is better when I’m Evil’ part of a series, each one with a different personality trait
Also at Sadie Coles was Urs Fischer’s impressive shelf
At Galerie Buchholz Henrik Olesen’s ‘Crocodile’
We loved the painted bronze relief ‘Three Women by Pool’ by Eric Fischl
Great work of Michael E. Smith at Andrew Kreps Gallery
My favourite booth was The Modern Institute displaying the wonderful non-functional art of Martin Boyce. Nothing is what it seems
There was a sad work at Lévy Gorvy Dayan by Alison Watt called ‘Death Mask’
New exciting work by Tomás Saraceno ‘Wayra 62, 2024’ made out of hand-blown glass at Neugerriemschneider
Also a new turn for Sterling Ruby new delicate tactile work called ‘Drifting Altar (8530)’
At Galerie Christophe Gaillard was a fascinating work made from a deconstructed melted plastic bin from 2014
I was intrigued at Clearing Gallery and ‘Airtime’ by Xingzi Gu
We loved the work by Matt Copson at High Art
At François Ghebaly there was yet another wonderful work by Max Hooper Schneider ‘Dendrite Bonsai (Bird of Paradise and Epiphyte Shrub)
From the fair into the wonderful galleries of Paris and first to Max Hetzler – we so enjoyed viewing the Glenn Brown exhibition ‘In the Altogether’. The juxtaposition of ‘When the satellite sings’ and ‘Dirty little Seahorses’ was show stopping
The colours he uses are almost kitsch, I am loving the work ‘Hoi Poloi’
In the evening we are rewarded with a delicious and eye catching dinner by Jöel Robuchon
