We head back to Basel Art Fair whilst BFAMI get the full tour at Patricia Marshall’s home where there are many wonderful artworks on show
At Karma International I am mesmerised by the painting ‘Self Improvement’ by Jasmine Gregory
with Madragoa I am fascinated by Jaime Welsh’s work ‘Ascension’ where he photographs his own children
In the same booth with Galerie Dawid Radiszewki is the eery painting ‘Green Light’ by one of my favourite artists Louisa Gagliardi
At Jessica Silverman was a cool work by Julie Buffalohead ‘Ribbon Skirt’ that seemed interesting
I pass my old friend Takashi on the top of the stairs on the Louis Vuitton Stand
At Andréhn Schiptjenko was an interesting artwork by Theresa Traore Dahlberg
In the same gallery we loved also the work by younger artist Sally von Rosen
At Esther Schipper I spotted ‘Idiom’ - one of the Pierre Hughye’s golden LED masks. This is such an exciting piece, with a real time generated AI voice. I feel this work is an important moment in Art History as well as Brancusi reinvented
Then my lovely moment with modernism and a work by Martin Boyce also at Esther Schipper
Of course Izzy Wood’s ‘Brass’ could not go without a mention over at Michael Werner
It was nice to see the work of Edith Dekyndt again at Marian Goodman Gallery – the one is titled ‘Tarba’
At the end of the day we head to MiuMiu’s incredible Public Programme commission by Helen Marten called 30 Blizzards. It was a fashion show and art installation combined – and it was beguiling and interactive
There was performers choreographed in great depth. A fashion show in disguise as an art performance
All the performers wore were MiuMiu clothes. As well as dancing, reciting poetry and movement there was also 5 digital chapters to give the viewer another perspective
The dancers rested and slept and awoke and danced
The days grande finally was visiting Richter at Louis Vuitton foundation seeing his large colour charts through his reoccurring windows
Then his window paintings of 1968 were fascinating
I went with my BFAMI group and we were all enjoying our private magical tour
A highlight was Jacob Kudsk Steensen (a Daata artist!) whom we showed our 360 VR space back in 2018. Was great to see his work so well presented, the new work ‘The Song Trapper’ is a moving image virtual performance
We headed to the George Condo show at Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, and liked the work of ‘The trapped Priest’. Perhaps looking at Bacon
