This week started with some Proud Mamma moments: In New York, Tif’s Time Square Spaces residency artist Lloyd Foster opened his studio and showed some works in progress
And in Paris Luxe Feminae curators Olivia, Lilly Cohen and Nadia Hejailan inaugurated a wonderful show called Vita Dopo Vita at Galerie Derouillon exploring materiality and rebirth in art making
The Vita Dopo Vita opening was very popular and well attended
There was a great atmosphere with beautiful people spilling out into the street
This is the work of Daniele Toneatti – he pulls material from disparate sources ranging from stock photography to art historical references. I also liked the work of Ala d‘Amico an experimental print maker and founder of Orme, a studio for experimental printmaking in Rome
Paris galleries are always so enjoyable - at Le Febvre et Fils I got caught up in Truls Mårtensson's ceramics - his use of iconography from comics, pop culture, and movies from the 1960s seems to tap into a collective nostalgia
We liked this work ‘Overturned in the Garden’
My special moment was viewing the collaboration between Jean Pierre Tortil and furniture designer Laurent Nichols
A great photograph of father and son - Le Febvre et Fils
Over at Perrotin I saw this wonderful painting by Laurent Grasso
