This summer we were fortunate to visit Jerusalem it’s beautiful Citadel where Innerscapes on the Move (2008) by Zadok Ben David are installed in front of The Tower of David
The circle of figures standing on the remains of the round Muslim tower, once part of a citadel embodied the tensions between humans and nature
We continued our travels and dropped into a beautiful spiritual and loving Ibiza gathering - art and sculpture were everywhere
Then on to Porta Heli where we came across these magnificent Camels by Jean Marie Appriou
They looked so magnificent and dominated the whole space - I was totally mesmerised
We went to visit Casa Cabana where art and design were together in harmony. The Incredible great taste of Casa’s founder Martina Mondadori, he spoke of his father’s journey of discovery as he put together their magnificent family home designed by Renzo Mongiardino
Then onto Milan with BFAMI – such an exciting trip. I was spotted in Prada having a solitary moment in my happy place

It was nice to visit the Thomas Demand’s ‘Processo Grottesco’ (2006) which is made by hand from paper and then photographed
A highlight was to visit the Galleria d’Italia and the Intesa Sanpaolo collection now housed in The Caveau, a former Bank vault designed by Luca Beltrami in the early 1900s, now emptied of safety deposit boxes but filled with art. It was a joy to learn about Italian Post-War Art in this way and understand how the family had amassed such an exemplary collection. It was so well thought about and directional

In the streets of Milan we spotted this wonderful Arnaldo Pomodoro ‘Grande Disco’ in the Piazza Filippo Meda

We had an inspiring Studio visit with Mattia Bosco
Our host was there to meet us. His work was incredibly technical he used old fashioned techniques to carve his stone sculptures. He explores the relationship between stone and matter
Then on to the Nilufar Depot where we discover some magnificent designers
We meet the designer Filippo Carandini who showed us with love his table made from layers of acrylic colours applied by hand
In their shop in Milan Central we fall in love with the little Allegra Hicks sofa
We visit the magnificent Collezione Ettore Molinario and their extensive collection of photography interweaving ancient sculpture and some iconic historic mid-century furniture’ – we were hosted by founder Ettore Molinario and his wife Rossella Colombari
