About
DIS is an artist collective operating at the intersection of art, fashion, advertising and digital culture. Emerging in the early 2010s, they helped define the post-internet moment by treating branding, lifestyle aesthetics and corporate language as both medium and subject. Founded in New York by Lauren Boyle, Solomon Chase, Marco Roso, and David Toro, the collective operates as a cultural ecosystem.
Across recent projects, DIS engages directly with infrastructure: how platforms organise knowledge, how aesthetics drive economies and how identity is shaped through interface design. Moving fluidly between installation, editorial environments, digital commissions and collaborative systems, their practice focuses on the frameworks that structure contemporary culture.
Through DIS.art, the collective runs an online learning and cultural platform that blends theory, aesthetics and critical discourse. Bringing together artists, writers, and thinkers working across AI, film, performance and music. The platform collapses boundaries between media, art production and modes of collaboration in which to offer an urgent response to the systems, corporations and governance shaping our digitally dependent daily lives.
