About

Gerry Fox is an artist and filmmaker best known for his large-scale, site-specific film installation works. Fox studied visual arts at Harvard University and is a BAFTA award winning documentary maker, making some of the most celebrated films about contemporary artists of recent years, primarily for ITV’s The South Bank Show. In 2007-8 Fox was the Collection’s first artist in residence resulting in the exhibition Living London. Drawing on a wealth of film making experience, Fox offers a fresh perspective on the notion of a city and its inhabitants with installations that combine new and archival footage. He makes tangible films that evoke spatial and temporal sensations, drawing attention to our perception of movement through space.
