Asian Dope Boys (Tianzhuo Chen)

Collectively known as the Asian Dope Boys (ADB), this Shanghai-based, multi-disciplinary group creates performances that straddle music, drag, S&M and art. Director, Tianzhuo Chen (China, 1985) choreographs transgressive ceremonies that take in club, internet and pop culture as well as Tibetan Buddhist, Hindu, and traditional Chinese aesthetics. Constantly twisting between many genres the work defies definition and is addictively hypnotic journey between art forms and worlds.

Zabludowicz Collection are delighted to exclusively stream: TRANCE – Behind The Scenes filmed in October 2019 in Beijing . This edit was created specially for DFW by Tianzhuo Chen during isolation.
