Stuart Whipps, A System For Communicating With The Ghost Of Sir Christopher Wren, 2014 (detail)

About

Please join us for the opening of Zabludowicz Collection Invites: Stuart Whipps on Thursday 10 April 2014, 7–9pm.

For the third Zabludowicz Collection Invites exhibition of 2014, Stuart Whipps will present an installation of three new works that bring together disparate strands of his ongoing research into the history of monuments. Investigating the connection between dead architecture and dead architects, the show will involve the reclaimed wall of an obsolete public library and the forgotten sign language system of Sir Christopher Wren.

Stuart Whipps (b.1979) lives and works in Birmingham. His practice explores the relationship between the photographic image and object, between photography and narrative, and the slippery nature of archives. Whipps creates installations and books that tease complex narratives out of historic artefacts and moments.
