About

Artist Anne Harlid leads a workshop inspired by the Stand-Ins: Figurative Paintings from the Collection at the Zabludowicz Collection.

In the workshop, Anne will facilitate creating a life-size imagined sculptural avatar or constructed portraits. In addition, Anne will be building different shapes of wooden frames with stands in advance that will enact as the three-dimensional canvas that we can then collaboratively create together!

Anne will direct us to pick and construct our favourite body parts, draw around our bodies or other objects, or create forms that we like and cut out the shapes to add to our characters. Next, we’ll paint our body parts exploring texture plus colour and finally staple them to the framework.

We will end by animating and moving our characters around the café and creating a mini-parade of our sculptural portraits!

For ages 5+, there must be no more than three children per one accompanying adult.

This event is FREE, booking recommended.
