Ryan Trecartin Screening - The Re’Search (Re’Search Wait’S) and K-CoreaINC.K (section a)
Ryan Trecartin’s films explore themes of identity, consumerism and post-millennial technology. His experimental, frenetically paced narratives reveal an angsty hysteria and darkly comic humour that parodies the lives of homogenised office workers or tween-aged girls, recalling You Tube home videos and reality TV shows.
Written, directed and produced by Trecartin, his practice closely collaborates with an ever growing cast of actors and artists to develop the conceptual content of the work and the sculptural installations that often accompany it.
