About

The Zabludowicz Collection was delighted to welcome over 400 visitors to Sarvisalo for a special Open Weekend in collaboration with Serlachius Museum. On the occasion of Keith Tyson’s major exhibition at Serlachius, the event offered a rare opportunity to experience his unique installation Large Field Array (2006–07). Comprising nearly 300 individual sculptural forms, Large Field Array takes its name from the Very Large Array of radio telescopes in New Mexico. Just as the telescopes combine multiple perspectives to deepen our understanding of the universe, Tyson’s installation acts as an experiential lens through which to explore the invisible and fundamental forces that shape our reality.

Alongside Tyson’s work, visitors also encountered curated displays of ceramic artworks, video, paintings and sculptures by both established and emerging international artists, including Oscar Tuazon, Franz West, Matthew Day Jackson, and Eva Rothschild. Two new commissions were unveiled this year: Crystalis, a sculptural grotto by Candida Powell-Williams, and Non-Fiction, an outdoor work by Jesse Wine.

The weekend marked a special collaboration with Serlachius Museum, highlighting the Zabludowicz Collection’s commitment to supporting ambitious artistic practices in dialogue with the distinctive landscape of the Finnish archipelago.
