About

This workshop, led by costume designer Bronya Arciszewska and inspired by Rachel Maclean's work, introduces the history of Slavic headdresses, looking at their meaning in Slavic culture, as well as looking at their reinterpretation in contemporary art. Participants then learn practical skills and techniques to create their own design to take home.

Bronya Arciszewska is a costume designer, researcher and wardrobe supervisor working in film, theatre and dance. She has an MA in Costume Design for Performance from London College of Fashion. She specialised in costume history during her BA in History from Oxford University. She is interested in exploring the social and cultural implications of dress and the potential for costume to provide an active contribution in performance.
