About

On loan to 'Anatomy of Fragility' at Frankfurt Kunstverein is the new silicon painting 'Heart Transplant Surgery No Room for Anything Less Than Perfection' (2025) produced by Agnes Questionmark’s during her residency on Sarvisalo. Known for her multidisciplinary practice spanning performance, sculpture, video and installation, Questionmark explores the porous boundaries between species, bodies and environments. For this full room presentation at Frankfurt Kunstverein the artist presents a large-scale installation that transforms medical imagery of open-heart and organ surgery into visceral landscapes of wax, silicone and pigment. Featuring three hybrid figures—part human, part aquatic—emerge as symbols of a fluid identity. In Questionmark’s work, fragility becomes a site of power, and transformation a form of resistance.
