About

Zabludowicz Collection is delighted to lend Heidi Bucher's Floor Skin (Ancestral Home, Obermühle), Parquet Flooring, Room 25, 2nd Floor, 1980 to Haus der Kunst for their latest exhibition, a major retrospective of her work.

Swiss artist Heidi Bucher explored architectural space and the body through sculptural and performative processes, most notably her latex casts of interiors, clothing and the human body which she referred to as "Häutungen", or skinnings. When making these skins, Bucher would cover entire surfaces with gauze, heavily apply a liquid latex and then, when almost set, the deskinning process of the work would take place.

Metamorphosis features over 150 exhibits as well as previously unseen film and archival footage. For more information about the exhibition, please visit Haus der Kunst's website.
