About

We are delighted to support this year's prestigious Turner Prize exhibition with the loan of a significant work by nominee Hurvin Anderson. Peter's Sitter 2 features a common barbershop scene encountered during the artist's upbringing in the Afro-Caribbean community of Birmingham, England. It will be shown alongside additional works from the same series, as well as politically charged compositions featuring key figures such as Nelson Mandela and Malcolm X. The exhibition showcases work by the full shortlist of artists; Hurvin Anderson, Andrea Büttner, Rosalind Nashashibi, and Lubaina Himid. The winner will be announced on 5 December 2017

This year's Turner Prize exhibition is displayed at Ferenz Art Gallery, as part of the Hull City of Culture programme. For further information please visit the Hull City of Culture website.
