About

Previously a student of physics, linguistics and aesthetics, Sam Falls applies his multidisciplinary awareness to making art. To reach each hybrid composition, the artist engages with various time-based techniques including photography, painting, Photoshop and sculpture. Combining colours, textures and subject matter, the final works are visually enticing and provoke the audience to contemplate their many possible meanings. Falls' juxtapositions and digital interventions can be both familiar and strange, raising questions about how we look at works of art in an image-saturated society. When placed on public display, the storytelling qualities of the works continue to evolve, inviting the viewer's individual understanding to build upon each narrative.
